NUTRITIONAL HEALING: PART 1

Look at these interesting facts about our country:
We are one of the most obese countries in the world. We eat supersized everything. Adults and children are eating unhealthy foods and are grossly overweight. It is in fact a pandemic. Many of us do not get enough exercise. Exercise has a direct affect on chemicals and hormones in the body in a positive way. We are racing all over creation, stressed to the max and stress KILLS!!! And we wonder why we have so many diseases that are incurable today…..Cancer being one of them
Cancer is a multifaceted disease: These are some contributing factors
1. Stress: from the outside puts tremendous stress on our insides. Stress can wreak havoc on cells damaging and changing them
2. Hormone imbalances: Excessive estrogen supports tumor growth in some types of breast, prostate and ovarian cancers
3. Toxic environments: Air, water, food (soil). Hormones and chemicals being fed to animals which supply our food
4. Deeply held emotions: “You are what you eat, drink, breathe, think, say and do” Patricia Bragg N.D, Ph.D
These contributing factors can lead to a weakened immune system. The role of the immune system is to protect the body from foreign predators such as viruses, bacteria, parasites, even cancer cells. Most often our amazing immune systems are ready and available to ward off these varmants, but not always if our systems are down and out. They can’t keep up with these rapidly multiplying abnormal cells that are dying to take over and wreak havoc on our different bodily systems.
The type of foods that many Americans consume today are the following:
Meats and sweets: pies and fries: chips and dips: cakes and shakes: And I must humbly admit that I grew up on most of these foods. BUT……. today I know differently and I do differently because I CHOOSE to. I want a healthy body that supports me and I want to support it in every possible way.
Might some cancer prevention be as simple as eating more healthy foods? Are there plant foods available that are high in antioxidants that can protect DNA from damage that can lead to malignant transformation? Can nutrition prevent the spread of cancer once it has started?
That’s food for thought, isn’t it!!!!!
